Simple Ideas to Get Started
- Start with one decade. Five minutes is enough, and it's a real prayer.
- Let them hold the beads, even if they drop them.
- Show a picture of the mystery and tell the story in one sentence before you begin.
- Invite them to answer. You pray the first half of the Hail Mary, and they join in for "Holy Mary, Mother of God." Little ones learn by repeating.
- Pick the same time each day: after dinner, before bed, or in the car.
- Keep it gentle. Wiggles and interruptions are normal. What matters is that prayer feels like home.
- Grow together. As your children grow, add another decade. Our Lady asked for the Rosary every day, and the whole family can grow into it together.
